Narc

Handsome Tom Cruise got behind this ugly film as an exec producer and is helping to give it a higher profile. Good thing, because indie director Joe Carnahan (Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane) knows how to squeeze plenty of, well, blood, guts, bullets and octane out of a tight budget. Rush's Jason Patric plays a formerly addicted narcotics cop working with a chunky Ray Liotta to solve the murder of an undercover coworker. The dicks get intense as the truth gets twisted and the film slams into its gruesome finale. Nothing to hide here: Narc is the straight dope for gritty crime-story junkies.
