So how on earth did the Top Chef host end up hawkin' burgers?
Ms. Padma's love affair with Carl's Jr.'s Western Bacon Cheeseburger began when they helped transform her from a teenage vegetarian into an unapologetic meat eater.
"The sublimely pleasurable taste of bacon…was further enhanced by its mingling with the barbeque sauce, greedily licked off as it dripped down my teenage fingers," Padma wrote in her 2007 cookbook, Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet, about devouring her first burgers in Los Angeles, where she spent part of her childhood.
