Conan O'Brien Bumps His Bean During Tonight Taping, Rushed to Hospital
This is why it's good to have a second in command.
Andy Richter had to step in as host of The Tonight Show Friday after Conan O'Brien fell during a skit being taped for Friday's episode and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, sources confirm to E! News.
Our insider says O'Brien was running down a flight of stairs when he slipped and banged his head, possibly sustaining a concussion.
NBC will likely air a repeat instead of the show that was halted by O'Brien's accident. Teri Hatcher and Seth MacFarlane were tonight's scheduled guests. (The network has not yet returned a request for comment.)
We hope one of our favorite funnymen gets well soon!
New Lawyer Comes to Save Jon Gosselin's String of Crappy Days
Well, someone had to come to Jon Gosselin's defense.
The reality-TV dad's new divorce attorney, Mark Heller, says that he was the one who insisted that Gosselin's ex-lawyer, Charles Meyer, file a motion to withdraw as counsel on Monday.
"I am going to take over," Heller tells E! News.
And he hasn't grabbed the reins a moment too soon—despite Gosselin's statements to the contrary, the latest InTouch Weekly cover screams, "Nanny Admits Affair With Jon Gosselin."
"The content of the story is shocking," Heller says. "Especially in light of the fact that a non-disclosure agreement purportedly prepared by the production company had been signed by the nanny before she started working with the Gosselin family. "
Yes, that's why it's shocking.
Lindsay and Sam Are Trying to Get Away From Us
You can't really blame Lindsay Lohan for wanting to blow a pop stand that's been burgled twice. But why is her ex changing addresses, too?
A source close to the duo tells E! News that Lohan and Samantha Ronson happen to be moving at the same time because both are sick of the constant paparazzi presence outside their respective houses.
We hear that Lohan, who has movers coming Friday to transport all her stuff from her rented Hollywood Hills home to a more secure high-rise apartment in Los Angeles, had been planning her relocation even before the latest break-in.
"That way, in a building, she can have a doorman and be a lot safer," the source said.
When Is Heroin Not Really Heroin? When It's at Michael Jackson's House
At this point, it's not as if there's anything they could have found at Michael Jackson's house that would shock us.
Unless they found tar heroin, of course. Which they did. Or at least, they thought they did.
Unidentified members of Jackson's family informed L.A. County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter in June that they had "located a quantity of tar heroin in a bag" at the Holmby Hills mansion the King of Pop was renting at the time of his death, according to a search warrant executed on the residence that was unsealed Thursday.
Sure enough, the list of items carted away from the house included two instances of a "brn sticky solid substance in clear plastic baggy."
And tar heroin is basically dark-colored, sticky heroin. And what better place to keep it than in plastic baggies?
But...
LAPD Looking at More Than Nudity in Eric Dane Tape
Eric Dane's naked romp with wife Rebecca Gayheart and third wheel Kari Ann Peniche may have been a "private, consensual moment" according to his attorney.
But according to the police, it could also have been a hotbed of illegal activity.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Thursday to E! News that its Detective Support and Vice division is taking a closer look at the DVD that mysteriously made its way into their this week, with an unnamed source saying the video may feature some malfeasance on the celebrities' part.
While the tape features the trio lolling around in bed and sharing a soak in the tub, no one actually has sex (which wasn't illegal last time we checked, anyway).
But Gayheart at one point says that she should lie down because she's "so high."
Jon Gosselin Holes Up in the Hamptons With Kate 2.0
Jon Gosselin moves pretty fast—and he's not the only one.
E! News has learned that the very well separated father of eight is hanging out at Michael Lohan's home in South Hampton, N.Y., with pretty, blonde Star reporter Kate Major.
Meaning, Gosselin's not out living the high life with Hailey Glassman.
"I think they are watching the Jon & Kate," Lohan told E!—referring, we might add, to one of our very own E! True Hollywood Stories.
"Kate has been like a daughter and...Jon and her are good friends," Lindsay's dad says of the duo, who have reportedly been in the Hamptons together for three days. "When they needed a place to relax, I opened my door."
How fatherly of him.

Lada Gaga Dumped By Her Gentleman
Speedy's disco stick is no longer Lady Gaga's for the riding.
The mono-monikered entrepreneur broke up with his hitmaker girlfriend of three months Wednesday after a photo of her snogging another fella' made it into the U.K.'s Sun tabloid, a source close to the ex-couple exclusively tells E! News.
The ill-advised makeout session occurred at the restaurant Balans in London's Soho district, where Gaga trotted her 20-person entourage following her man-straddling gig at Brixton Academy.
"He was so disappointed, but he's not into cheaters," our source said of Speedy. "It was hard enough for them to be in a long-distance relationship, but then this came out and it was over for him."

Lindsay Walks to The Other Side in Katie's Shoes
How did Lindsay Lohan get to The Other Side?
Following in Katie Holmes' footsteps, apparently.
David Michaels, who will be directing Lohan in the long-gestating fantastical comedy tells E! News that Lohan's role was originally intended for Tom Cruise's missus, and that before she opted out Holmes had given him quite a bit of input on her character.
"Katie would call me from Berlin at 4 a.m. her time to go over ideas and notes," said Michaels, who also cowrote the script. "We did this over successive weeks while she was there with Tom when he was filming Valkyrie. The result of our collaboration has tremendously improved the arc and dynamic of the lead character."
But when the funding for the indie production temporarily fell through, Holmes moved on and ultimately committed to her Broadway role in All My Sons, leaving Michaels without a leading lady.
Kelly Rutherford: Just Looking Out for Son's Safety
According to Kelly Rutherford, she didn't take her ex to court again as part of any big plot against him.
On her way into a Santa Monica court this morning for a follow-up hearing to address custody issues, the very pregnant Gossip Girl actress told E! News that she asked a judge to intervene because her estranged husband hadn't complied when she asked him to secure his swimming pool when their toddler son was around.
"I went over there and the pool was uncovered and I asked him to cover it 'cause it was a concern and he just ignored it," Rutherford said. "So I just wanted to make sure my son was OK to be honest...I can't sleep at night if I'm up thinking about that."
She only kept 2-year-old Hermes away from his dad Daniel Giersch's house "for a few days," she added.
Meanwhile, the German-born Giersch told E! that finding out his wife had arranged for surveillance video to be shot of his pool area was a bit of a culture shock.
"How would you feel if there were remote camera on your property. People were watching whatever you do, going to the restroom or anything else. It's a new feeling," he said. "I've never experienced anything like this before."
Britney's Bills as Hefty as Ever
Just in case you were worried that Britney Spears couldn't possibly afford to pay all those legal bills and lead her usual swanky lifestyle—fear not.
Sure, Spears' estate shelled out more than $3 million in legal fees between Feb. 1, 2008 and Dec. 31, including the $625,000 she was ordered to hand over to Kevin Federline for his family court expenses.
But she had plenty left over, considering she racked up bills of $447,634 for security; $49,387 for home repairs and maintenance; $105,000 to rent her Malibu digs; and $178,818 for childcare.
Other expenses that qualify Spears' status as rich: $188,556 on assistants and other employees; $285,594 in mortgage payments; $5,998 for "decorations"; and $1.06 million in "miscellaneous business expenses."
All told, Spears spent upward of $10 million during those 11 months.
It's good to be the pop princess.
Charlie Sheen's Wife OK After Being Hospitalized
Another prenatal scare for Brooke Mueller and another possible image-buster for Charlie Sheen.
Mueller is thankfully doing fine after being hospitalized Tuesday, Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, confirms to E! News.
"Brooke Mueller Sheen was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital Tuesday morning after experiencing premature contractions, which is not uncommon at this stage of a pregnancy carrying twins," Rosenfield said in a statement. "She is expected to be released from the hospital today."
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas was quick to dispute an online report that Sheen was off partying in Sin City when his wife checked into the hospital.
Britney Gives Her Boys the Tour
Britney Spears' housewarming party is already in full swing—in her heart.
"I took my babies to our new home and they loved it! I can't wait to move in," the pop star wrote Tuesday on her website.
Her new digs are rumored to be in the exclusive gated Oaks community in Calabasas, Calif., where she was spotted with her entourage earlier today unloading some of her sons' toys outside a mansion dubbed Château Sueños, or Dream House.
The house, which was most recently listed for $8.99 million, looks to still be on the market after six months, but realtor Jeff Biebuyck tells E! News that the listing "should have been updated."
