Take James Bond, subtract the over-the-top charm, add in the dark intensity of Inception and boom! You've got the newest teaser for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. If the mysteriously calm, yet somehow extremely urgent-sounding British accents don't grab your attention, the slow-building beat of the music—dun, dun, dun—definitely will.

Based on the British spy novel by John le Carré, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy delves into the real world of deadly spy games, which, from the looks of it, consists of dramatically intense staring and very calm, yet ominous, voice tones from celebrated British thesps. Oscar-winner Colin Firth and Inception's own Tom Hardy are joined by Dark Knight's Gary Oldman and Harry Potter's John Hurt, and with that lineup, this flick seems to have more than enough potential to be the next award-winning thriller.

But if there's one message this trailer is trying to get out, it's that things aren't always what they seem. Looks like  we'll have to wait until Nov. 18 in the U.S. to see what this spy novel-turned-movie is all about. How's that for anticipation?

Are you on the edge of your seat or is the mystery just a little bit over-ambitious? Let us know!
