Lindsay's Pill-Prescribing Doctors Under Investigation

E! News confirms that Lohan's physicians are currently being sussed out by the California Medical Board on the urging of her dad Michael

Prognosis: not good.

The doctors who prescribed—and possibly overprescribed and just plain misdiagnosed—Lindsay Lohan are under investigation by the Medical Board of California.

So add them to the list of people who wish Michael Lohan would just go away.

That's right, somehow some of Michael's white-noise media ubiquity filtered through to the proper channels and, thanks to a letter his attorney sent to the state attorney general  back in July, which in turn referred the matter to the state medical board, an investigation has been launched.

Go figure.

"The medical board is conducting an investigation and Michael and I are cooperating," Lisa Bloom, Michael's lawyer, told E! News.

The board itself would not confirm that any investigation is under way; the oversight body is not permitted to publicly disclose any pending cases until charges are pressed and the investigation became a matter of public record. Such investigations usually take several months.

It's unclear which doctors are being investigated, though details about Lindsay's prescriptive history have been leaking out over the past few months, thanks in no small part to her inpatient treatment.

That itself was called into question, as one of the main reasons for LiLo's early release from the program was due to UCLA Medical Center doctors reevaluating her medical history and determining that she was misdiagnosed—and thus wrongfully prescribed medication for—Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

While Lindsay herself has never commented on her medications (though she was cleared to take Adderall, antidepressants and sleep aids during her jail stint), and attorney Shawn Chapman Holley refused to address the speculation on her client's medical history, it has been reported that the actress was on Dilaudid, Adderall, Nexium, Zoloft, Trazodone and Ambien prior to her admittance to rehab.
