Is a Whole Week of U2 on Letterman Too Much U2?

U2 Jeffrey R. Staab/CBS

Why is U2 performing on Letterman for the entire week? One night is good enough for most people to swallow.

OMG, you did not just diss the MOST HUGEST BAND on this undeserving planet—the band that Jesus would probably be playing in if he were here right now? The band that just got a street named after it?

Apparently U2 doesn't do a ton of talk show appearances, and talk show producers consider them to be a huge get. And here you thought the Jonas Brothers were the biggest band in the world. U2 has appeared on Letterman's show only twice before this week.

Do celebrities—even the B and C-list ones—fly first class? Can the C-listers afford it?
—BB

Well, depends: Is Joan Rivers B or C list? Either way, she travels first-class. Generally, if it's on business, even C-listers will fly first class just to avoid the crowds they believe are waiting to adore them back in coach. Then again, I once rode in coach next to Peter Brady. We talked about computers.

Why is it that some stars from hit TV shows never show up in movies and sometimes don't show up again on TV for years?
—Gorilla

Let's take the second half of your question first. "As far as TV stars not showing up again for years in other series, it's the curse of a long running successful show," says Nikki Weiss, who manages Candis Cayne, recently of Dirty Sexy Money. "Casting directors and producers try to stay away from someone whose 'character' precedes them."

Now, for the first part. Usually that's just a matter of an actor failing to find the right project to break them through the wall, or ceiling, or whatever. "It's not just about charisma but rather choosing the right project when one makes the crossover," Weiss says. "It's about how the audience will receive the small screen actor in big-screen role."

What is the name of your book you were promoting the other week on E! ? It was geared towards celebrity secrets we all should know.
Tiffany

That would be the same book that is currently enjoying top-20 status in the pop culture category on Amazon, The A-List Playbook.
