Selena Gomez can breathe a sigh of relief.

A day after a judge dismissed his stalking case and released him from jail, Thomas Brodnicki has been locked up on an 5150 psychiatric hold out of concern he may try to harm Gomez. He had been accused of stalking The Wizards of Waverly Place star.

Here's what we know.

While LAPD could not confirm the development since it's a medical condition, a source tell E! News that the 46-year-old Illinois native is currently being evaluated to determine whether he should continue to be confined at an undisclosed mental health facility. By law, the state of California can hold him against his will for up to 72 hours while he is examined by doctors and receives treatment.

Brodnicki previously allegedly admitted to his therapist that he has had conversations with God about killing the 19-year-old actress-singer.

Gomez has obtained a restraining order against the Brodnicki prohibiting him from coming within 100 yards of her.
