There's a new McCutie in the house!

Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes has adopted a baby girl, her rep confirms to E! News—a plot twist that may be a surprise to some, but which Rhimes worked into her personal script years ago.

And what's her new daughter's name?

Emerson Pearl (regal, right?!) joins older sister Harper, who Rhimes adopted in 2002.

"I've been writing adoption into story lines on my shows and only a few people close to me knew about my plans," she told Us Weekly, which first reported the news. "I think the response was 'oh my goodness' from a lot of people."

Rhimes called the serene Emerson, who's been snuggling with mom in a fit-for-a-princess nursery tricked out by Carousel Designs, a "zen baby."

"We're just doing a lot of bonding right now," she said of the child. "This is a happy time—I feel so lucky."

And, better yet, no Meredith-style baby-stealing occurred in the making of this family.
