It's going to be a sad day when Gossip Girl wraps its final episode, but it sounds like the cast is more excited than not about moving on.

Even before the CW officially announced G.G. would close shop after next season, Chace Crawford told us he had already started making plans to move Los Angeles.

And now Leighton Meester is also filling us in on how she really feels about saying goodbye to Blair Waldrof…

"It's bittersweet," Meester, 26, told me at the MTV Movie Awards, where she presented with her That's My Boy costars Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler. "That the perfect word for it."

She says the cast and crew have become like family.

"But at the same time, it's great to move on and do something different," she explained. "Playing the same character for six years is great, but it's exciting to do other things and also just sleeping and spending time with my family."

And no, no one is jumping to do a Gossip Girl movie. "I've never heard anything from producers or from anyone involved with Gossip Girl," she said. "I only hear about it when I'm asked about it in interviews."

Guilty, as charged!

In the meantime, Meester continues pursuing her music career with plans to release some new tunes by the end of this month or next via free digital downloads. "I want to release an album by the end of the year," she said. "I probably have 20 songs ready but will release an album with 10 or 11."
