The mystery of the Bridesmaids sequel is over!

Sure, Universal could still be developing a follow-up to the megahit flick, but...

The mastermind behind the movie, Kristen Wiig, says to count her out.

"We're not planning on doing one," Wiig told me at the Golden Globes. "We had a special time making the first one, but we're really excited to try something else."

Well, there you have it!

But not that much of a surprise really. After all, Jon Hamm exclusively told me back in September, "I don't think Kristen is going to do it."

Wiig recently revealed that she and Bridesmaids cowriter Annie Mumolo are working on a new—and not as raunchy!—script. "It's going to be a little bit of a different tone," Wiig told me, "but it's going to be a comedy, for sure."

On a side note, fashion designers may want to consider Wiig for their next ad campaigns. She certainly proved she has what it takes when she hit the Globes in a Bill Blass gown and vintage Fred Leighton jewels.

She is one fine-looking Bridesmaid.
