Kendall Jenner isn't your ordinary 16-year-old.

Not only is she part of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians empire, but now she's the star of her own reality-TV special...

"I've seen tweets where people say, 'I'm so excited Kendall gets the spotlight for once on the show,'" Jenner told me earlier today while promoting tonight's premiere of E!'s Kendall's Sweet 16. "I know it's cool for the fans, but I honestly don't like being the center of attention. It's just not me. I like being like laid-back and being able to be a kid who goes to school."

She also has quite the big heart. The special shows mom Kris Jenner urging Kendall to have a blowout Sweet 16 (i.e., a sponsored trip to the Bahamas for 75 of her closest friends), but the high schooler wanted nothing of the sort.

Instead she opts for a local party at a West Hollywood hotel, where she asks her guests to bring toys for sick kids at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

"For my mom to be like, 'Oh, we're going to have this huge extravagant party,' and to think those kids can't even go to a party because they're sitting in a hospital bed, it's just really sad," Kendall said.

It's just one of a few dramas we witness during the show (which airs at 9 p.m.). Kendall breaks down in tears after failing her first road test. "It's the most embarrassing thing," she said. "Some of my friends watch the show and they don't know that I sobbed. So embarrassing. Ugh, I'm not watching it."

How long Kendall wants to continue being on a reality show is anybody's guess. Remember, she's only 16!

"I definitely want to keep modeling, but college, I'm still trying to figure all that out—whether I'm going to go or not," she said. "Depends on where my life is at that time."
