The lads of The Lonely Island have us laughing our booties off once again...this time, at the expense of Jimmy Fallon.
The comedic trio—including Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccome—just wrapped up a press tour for their mockumentary, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, and in order to keep things fun throughout the trip, they decided to play a little game in which they slipped Fallon's name into as many interviews as they possibly could.
Samberg joined The Tonight Show on Monday and explained, "We were like, 'We need something to keep our sparks flying a little, something exciting to do during the interviews.' So we turned it into a game where we would try and mention you as much as possible without anyone sort of knowing that's what we were doing."
Samberg knew they'd end the press tour with Fallon, and thus decided to compile a video of all the on-air moments from their tricky, little game.
The result ends up being a hilarious super-cut of Fallon factoids and words of wisdom. For example, "Never f--k in a volcano," and, "Ask for the job you want in a tracksuit" (both solid pieces of advice if you ask us).
Samberg even managed to slip Fallon's name into his appearance on-stage at the Billboard Latin Music Awards!
Meanwhile, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping has been a longtime secret project from Judd Apatow.
In the saga, former boyband member Connor4Real (played by Samberg) wants to do everything in his power to maintain his celebrity status. However, when his solo album flops, he falls into a downward spiral.
If the film is anything like the hilarious cult classic "I'm on a Boat," we really can't wait to watch!
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping will be released June 3.
(E! and Universal Pictures are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
