Justin Theroux is certainly a humble man.

The actor participated in The Hollywood Reporter's latest roundtable involving a range of eclectic actors—including Timothy Hutton, Clive Owen, Jon Voight, Bob Odenkirk and David Oyelowo—and spoke candidly about what he thinks his strengths and weaknesses are.

Jennifer Aniston's leading man was asked what he would probably be doing if he stopped acting today, and his response is nothing short of modesty at its finest.

"[I'd] probably keep writing. I'm not good at other things. I'm not a very bright man."

Oh, J.T. We bet Aniston and many others would beg to differ.

Theroux also waxed poetic about the importance of not putting titles, or boundaries, on what types of roles one should seek for themselves.

"It's valuable for any actor to always think of himself as a character actor. The minute you start trying to assume a 'leading man' or 'leading woman' role, your sandbox starts to shrink and you start to get into the confines of a really strange space."

He added, "We've all seen it happen—it creates this terrible gravity where the material starts to play to the actor's comfort zone and eventually you're painting inside the lines to maintain whatever perception or awards [pedigree] you've built up."

As if his cinematic contribution wasn't proof enough, we're pretty sure the above statements exhibit exactly why Theroux is indeed a smart cookie.
