Benedict Cumberbatch didn't win Best Actor at the 2015 Oscars, but that didn't stop the Imitation Game star from enjoying himself!

The 38-year-old newlywed and father-to-be was so excited about dancing at the Vanity Fair after-party that he temporarily forgot that he and Sophie Hunter already said "I do" on Feb. 14!

It began when iTV's Ross King said to Cumberbatch post-show (as seen in this Lorraine clip), "You must be shattered!"

"No, not at all," answered Cumberbatch, seemingly A-OK with the fact that Theory of Everything's Eddie Redmayne won the Best Actor award.  "Why would I be shattered?"

"Well, you've been doing your all," said King, "I know you've been back and forth..."

"Now I get to dance!" Cumberbatch interrupted. "I'm saving my poison up for now. This is what it's all about."

When asked what he planned to dance to, the Sherlock star didn't feel like divulging. "I'm not gonnathat's for me and my fiancéemy wife, I should say," he said, glancing back at his pregnant wife (who fortunately, didn't seem too upset by his gaffe).

King was also won over by Cumberbatch's charm (even if he was a bit dismissive on the carpet). He tweeted:

So how was the after-party? According to Vanity Fair, Cumberbatch "spent part of the night deep in conversation with Joan and Jackie Collins over French fries." Hopefully this didn't deter whatever undoubtedly spectacular moves he planned to pull with Mrs. Cumberbatch on the dance floor!
