Nicole Kidman and her family are, understandably, still mourning the death of the actress's father, Tony Kidman.

On Monday, the 47-year-old mother of four and hubby Keith Urban posted a joint statement to Facebook thanking fans for their support through such a big loss.

"We would just like to thank everyone for their love and prayers over these past couple of weeks," the couple said. "We are all heartbroken but knowing we are in the hearts and thoughts of others is so comforting. Sending love, Nic and Keith xx"

Tony Kidman, a clinical psychologist at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, died earlier this month while visiting Nicole's sister, Antonia Marran, in Singapore. His sudden death was not expected, and a rep for Nicole told The Daily Mail Australia, "The family is in shock and grieving."

The following week, Dr. Kidman was laid to rest at St Francis Xavier Church on Sydney's North Shore. He is survived by wife Janelle Kidman, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in January, daughter Nicole and her kids (daughter Isabella, 21, son Connor, 19, daughter Sunday, 6, and daughter Faith, 3), daughter Antonia and her six children.

Dr. Kidman was well-accomplished in his field, and in 2005, he was awarded an Order of Australia for his contributions to clinical psychology.
