Sherri Shepherd is opening up about her surrogate baby drama with ex Lamar Sally. Well, sort of.

During an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show today, the 47-year-old former View co-host gave a brief update on where things stand with the custody battle over Lamar Sally Jr., their newborn son whom Shepherd has yet to meet.

"We can't say anything about that. I have a lot of lawyers and I'm in court right now and it's very public and it's very painful," Shepherd told the audience. "You know for me, I'm not Tori and Dean, I don't get paid to talk about my life, so when people tweet me I always say go to Wendy, she knows what's going on. You can ask Wendy about my life."

Shepherd and Sally's son was born back in May. The former couple are currently in the midst of divorcing, and Shepherd previously filed papers asking for the court to waive her rights and responsibilities as a parent to Lamar Jr. (this would then mean that Sally would not be able to ask for child support payments from her).

Sally recently spoke out and gave his side of the story regarding the surrogate baby drama (Lamar Jr. was conceived using Sally's sperm and a donor egg). "[Sherri] said, 'I will love the baby like it's mine,'" he told People. "She never said she didn't want the baby."

Shepherd still is not listed at the baby boy's mother on the birth certificate. "I think it's the worst thing in the world for L.J. to look at his birth certificate at 16 and see it says, 'Mother unknown,'" Sally added.
