New faces. New places. Same amazingly ridiculous concept.

Watch out, TV lovers, because the sequel that you've been impatiently waiting for is almost here. Sharknado 2: The Second One will be spinning onto our small screens on July 30 and it's bringing even more outrageous cameos and hilariously awful moments. The only difference? This time, the shark-filled tornado will be attacking the mean streets of New York City.

So why the big move? "If we stayed in Los Angeles, it would've been boring, but we went to New York and we have a whole new set of tinker toys," executive producer and director Anthony C. Ferrante revealed Tuesday morning at NBCUniversal's Summer Press Day.

One of the things that made the first Sharknado film such an Internet sensation was the fact that the cast and creators fully embraced the cheesy lines and the unbelievable storyline. "You're making a movie called Sharknado and if you don't embrace it you end up with a movie that's not fun," Ferrante explained.

When speaking of the script for Sharknado 2, the EP said they're proud of the fact that it seems like an "11-year-old" wrote it. He reasoned, "We were trying to emulate a blockbuster movie with their craft service budget for a day."

Trust us, thrill-seekers; this Syfy sequel is going to be jam-packed with unforgettable moments especially since the tornado itself is going to be revamped into a whole new monster. "We're trying to perfect the tornado on this one even more because we're trying to make it more of a character," Ferrante gushed.

So what familiar faces can we expect to see in this whirlwind of a movie? Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will reprise their roles as Fin and April, while new castmembers include Vivica A. Fox and Mark McGrath. In addition, get ready for some random cameos from Kelly Osbourne, Judd Hirsch, Andy Dick and many more.

Star Judah Friedlander joked, "Some of the top shark actors in the world [will be in Sharknado 2]. Some came from overseas, some trained at the Royal Academy in London."

Friedlander added that he is excited to be a part of a movie that is unapologetically extreme. "It's unpretentious, fun, and it's the kind of movie you can turn on at any point...and be locked in and want to finish it."

Sharknado 2: The Second One premieres Thursday, July 30, at 9 p.m. on Syfy.

(E! and Syfy are both part of the NBCUniversal Family.)
