While we're still over three weeks away from Scandal's return, ABC has decided to be kind and gift us with a small taste of what we can expect when Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her Gladiators finally return on Thursday, Feb. 27.
And though the clip posted to Scandal's official Facebook page is only twenty seconds long, it has us positively salivating for more. Why? Because the sight of FLOTUS Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Olivia, the president's mistress (and one true love) sitting down for a meal together is almost too much awesome for us to bear.
So why are Fitz's (Tony Goldwyn) ladies meeting up for lunch?
"We're sharing a meal, being gal pals, braiding each other's hair, talking about boys," Mellie jokes to Olivia after the fixer asks that very question.
Of course, that's not the real reason as a photographer snaps away at the two women. "I'm making a respectable woman out of you, Olivia," Mellie says with a smile.
Oh snap!
And it seems like Mellie will be making us say that quite a bit in the second half of the season as star Darby Stanchfield recently teased, "The First Lady has some really good, steamy stuff coming up."
Scandal returns Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
