Olivia Palermo got engaged to model boyfriend Johannes Huebl yesterday while spending the holiday in St. Bart's.
Her German-born beau shared his new relationship status on Instagram, posting a video of his fiancée making her way through the lush landscaping around the resort where they're staying, Emma Louise's "Jungle" playing in the background—during which Palermo couldn't help but flash her new engagement ring.
"Happy New Year to everybody and this is how we celebrate it: OP said Y E S," Huebl wrote.
Aw.
And it looked as if these two, both of whom are 27, were having a grand time even before Huebl popped the question! The fashionable couple have obviously been enjoying the idyllic setting and were spotted sharing a kiss in the sand on Saline Beach on Monday.
Palermo and Huebl have been dating since 2008 after meeting through mutual friends. Obviously he didn't buy the portrayal of her as a villain opposite Whitney Port on The City.
"She is completely different than she's been portrayed on her job, everyone who meets her—especially with me—is surprised about her happiness, and her friendliness and smiles," Huebl told Elle in 2010.
"I think that we grow together," Palermo told the mag. "I think that I'm constantly learning, and we're both eager to learn about not only each other, but our interests."
"I think we have a very conservative, old romantic, private approach to our love," added Huebl.
"I'm a much nicer person, much more laid back and relaxed, not serious like they show me," Palermo told the Los Angeles Times in 2009. "They can only use so much footage in 30 minutes so I think that they really narrow it down and sometimes it doesn't come out exactly how I would like."
But at least her relationship with Huebl came out just so.
