The Governor is back!

The Walking Dead bad guy showed his face at the end of this week's episode.

"I think The Governor's got a lot of stuff to sort out," David Morrissey, who plays Rick's eyepatch-wearing nemesis, told E! News at the GQ Man of the Year party in L.A. "It's a really great season…It's a much-more character-driven season."

We'll learn "a lot more" about the Governor, Morrissey said.

"I think what's interesting about the Governor is he does explore all aspects of himself and I think at the end of last season we saw somebody who is surprised by his own violence inside of himself," he said. "This season is about him coming to terms with that. How he comes to terms with that is a new question. You'll have to wait and see."

Could The Governor become a good guy? Probably not, Morrissey said.

"What's great is no one is safe in this show—and this season proves it," he said.

AMC announced late last month that the zombie drama will be back for a fifth season.

"We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever: The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season," the cable network's president Charlie Collier said in a statement. "This is a show that has erased traditional distinctions between cable and broadcast. Its expanding base of passionate fans has grown every season, most recently—and most notably—with the season four premiere earlier this month, which broke viewership records for the series and became the biggest non-sports telecast in cable history. On behalf of the incredible team on both sides of the camera, thank you to the fans and here's to more Dead."
