Joaquin Phoenix may be known for being a private person, but on Monday, Nov. 11, the 39-year-old star didn't hesitate to go public with a supposed new ladylove.
While taking a break from promoting his new movie Her in Rome, the Oscar nominee was spotted enjoying a seemingly romantic stroll with a mystery blonde.
Casually dressed, and wearing near-matching Converse sneakers, the duo held hands as Phoenix draped his arm around the gal's shoulders.
The two later met up with director James Gray and his family and the group hit up both San Pietro and Gianicolo hill after dining at a restaurant near the Vatican.
Gray recently directed Phoenix in the upcoming film The Immigrant. They also worked together on the movies The Yards, We Own the Night and Two Lovers.
The actor's newest flick, Her, finds Phoenix playing a lonely writer who ends up falling for his computer operating system voiced by Scarlett Johansson.
Written and directed by Spike Jonze, Her hits theaters on Nov. 20.
