Lady Gaga is really embracing this whole space thing.

Just days after it was announced that the pop star will become the first recording artist to perform outside the Earth's atmosphere in early 2015, Mother Monster unveiled and demonstrated what she called a "flying dress" over the weekend.

"I want to introduce you to Volantis," Gaga told the crowd during a release party at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City for her new album Artpop while standing in front of a white dress featuring six giant fans in a hexagonal formation.

She added, I wanted to make today about something even more important to me, and that something is the youth of the world...and although she [Volantis] is a vehicle, she is essentially a metaphor for me. I will be a vehicle of their voices and the voices of my fans."

Gaga then proceeded to step into the dress and was soon lifted a few inches off the ground.

Talk about taking fashion to new heights!

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old singer's highly anticipated album Artpop dropped today.
