Watch: Charlie Hunnam Busy Without Christian Grey Role

Charlie Hunnam may not be portraying Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey (that honor now goes to Jamie Dornan), but his next project has a newly announced start date.

The hunky British actor will start filming the gothic horror story, Crimson Peak, in February 2014, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The production name is Haunted Peak.

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro's haunted house thriller tells the story of a young author who discovers that her husband is not who he appears to be.

Shooting is expected to wrap in May.

The Sons of Anarchy star spoke to E! News exclusively about his upcoming schedule on Saturday, Oct. 19, and expressed his excitement about this new role.

"I have a film that I'm doing with Guillermo, another film that I've been scheduled to do for the last year," Hunnam explained at the "Hogs for Heart" event benefiting One Heart Source Education Programs in Africa. "Right when we wrapped Pacific Rim, Guillermo and I had a wonderful time, collaborating together and he signed on to do this movie and right away, he said, you know I'd love you to come on and be a part of it, so I'm gonna go do that," he said.

Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska will co-star alongside Hunnam.
