The 9 to 5 star says she and Wagner could be planning a winter wedding.
"We're talking about it," Tomlin told me at GLESN's Respect Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel. "I think December, I'm off. I have no obligations at the moment."
Here's hoping her calendar remains empty.
Tomlin, 74, exclusively told E! News in August that she and Wagner, 78, were thinking of getting hitched.
"You don't really need to get married, but marriage is awfully nice," she said. "Everybody I know who got married, they say it really makes a different. They feel very very happy about it."
She also cracked that "maybe we'll be dressed like chickens" instead of wearing something formal on the big day.
GLESN works to ensure school is a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students. Tomlin said she can't even try to imagine how her life would have been different if there were organizations like GLESN around when she was growing up.
"My mother was a very darling person, but she still had issues with it because she was also a victim of the culture and she didn't want anything too conspicuous or anything different than her girlfriends," Tomlin said. "I can see how my family lacked knowledge of the situations of life, how many different kinds of people there are on this earth."
"I could take them on their own terms but they couldn't take me," she said. "But now that generation is pretty much gone…Things do change generationally and I know in time things get better."
