Will the The Force be with Ewan McGregor?
The Stars Wars actor says he'd love to be in director J.J. Abrams' upcoming flick for the sci-fi franchise.
"They haven't phoned me yet," McGregor told me at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his new ensemble drama, August: Osage County.
But if they do, he said, "I'd be up for it."
Hear that, J.J.?
Meanwhile, August is on its way to award season. In the film, about a dysfunctional family headed by a pill-popping boozehound matriarch (Meryl Streep), McGregor and Julia Roberts play parents of a teenage girl (the now barely-recognizable blonde Abigail Breslin).
"We have a great argument (in the movie)," McGregor said, referring to a screaming match between him and Roberts. "There' a great argument scene over our kid. I'm so familiar with adult arguments between two parents over their teenage daughter. It's something I know quite well."
The movie also marks Roberts and Dermot Mulroney's first time working together since 1997's My Best Friend's Wedding.
"We're planning at least one more so we can have a nice round three," Mulroney said. "She and I have agreed that it will happen one way or another."
Julianne Nicholson plays one pf Roberts' two sisters (Juliette Lewis is the other). "It's beyond amazing, a dream come true," Nicholson said. "It's beyond anything I could have ever envisioned."
Is Roberts as perfect as we think she is?
"She's nasty, mean and ugly," Nicholson cracked. "No, she's amazing, generous and gorgeous. I only have nice things to say."
