Glee is never going to be the same without Cory Monteith.

Production on season five of the show kicked off Aug. 5, and as Naya Rivera explained exclusively to E! News' Jason Kennedy at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards in L.A., Glee's stars are very much feeling the loss of Monteith.

"[We're] definitely taking it day by day," she explained. "I would say that something is definitely missing, and you can feel the shift, but I think that everybody's really just leaning on each other and trying to do good work. I think that's the most important."

Lea Michele offered up a touching tribute to Monteith last night while accepting her award for Choice TV Actress at the Teen Choice Awards. "I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory. For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love, we're gonna get through this together," she said through tears. "He was very special to me and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart."

Glee won an award for Choice TV Show in the comedy category, which Monteith's castmates dedicated to the fans. "Cory was like a brother to us," Amber Riley said, adding that he "was always ready to sign an autograph or take a picture with a fan and he loved his Gleeks."

"So on behalf of our brother and our castmate," Jenna Ushkowitz added, "we know that Cory would have wanted to dedicate this award to you guys."
