Sandlot star Tom Guiry has been arrested for drunkenly head-butting a cop, E! News has confirmed.

Houston Police Department spokesperson John Cannon tells E! that the Houston P.D. was contacted by United Airlines at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport about a passenger that appeared to be too drunk to continue to their destination. Officers arrived on scene to find Guiry was indeed drunk.

The officer informed him that he could take a ride to Houston's newly established sobering center and not be charged with anything. Guiry became agitated and started making threats at the suggestion. A sergeant arrived on the scene and informed Guiry that if he continued to make threats, he would have more severe charges than just public intoxication.

The 31-year-old actor continued to threaten officers and was placed under arrest. While being detained, Guiry attempted to kick an officer in the face and was successful in head-butting an officer in the face. He was arrested without further incident and charged with felony assault of a public servant.

Guiry is most famous for his role as Scotty Smalls in the 1993 baseball movie The Sandlot.

Just the other week, the whole Sandlot cast celebrated the film's 20-year anniversary by reuniting at the Salt Lake City baseball diamond where so many of the movie's most memorable scenes were shot.

Marty York (Yeah-Yeah), Chauncey Leopardi (Squints), Victor DiMattia (Timmy Timmons), Shane Obedzinski (Tommy Timmons) and Patrick Renna (Hamilton "Ham" Porter aka The Great Hambino) were all in attendance for the nostalgic reunion, which drew a crowd of 1,500 fans. Guiry was not.
