Harry Styles almost did some damage to his famous hairdo during One Direction's July 13th show at Chicago's First Midwest Bank Amphitheater.

In a video of the boys' performance of "Teenage Dirtbag" taken by a fan and posted online, Styles can be seen getting a little too close to one of the onstage fire effects at the end of the song. But not to worry, 1D fans. Zayn Malik was there to save him from any injury.

In the clip, Styles, dressed in a white shirt and black skinny jeans, throws a white towel over his head before walking with his head down towards the fire at the back of the stage. That's when Malik rushes over to his fellow boybander to guide him away from the shooting flames.

An unharmed Styles then shakes out his hair and wipes the sweat of his forehead with the towel before throwing it into the crowd for one lucky fan to catch. After the show, Styles tweeted, "Chicago! Thank you for two amazing nights, crowd was unreal. Pizza wasn't bad either. Thanks for having us. H .xx." Clearly he recovered from the close encounter.

Meanwhile, the Brit boyband continues to tease their upcoming music video for their new song "Best Song Ever." Just the other day, 1D tweeted a photo of an unrecognizable Niall Horan dressed as an old man in a business suit complete with fake hair, beard and facial prosthetics. "WE PRESENT....One..'character'...from the #BestSongEverVideo. STAY TUNED for trailer at 6pm GMT!" they wrote.

They also released the first trailer for the video starring Horan at the old man, a studio exec named Harvey.

And earlier today, the band posted a second trailer for the "Best Song Ever" music video (which comes out in five days), which features Liam Payne as video alter ego "Leeroy, the choreographer." "Are you ready for the #BestSongEverTrailer2? LET'S GO! 1DHQ x #BestWeekEver," tweeted from their official account.

Tomorrow night, 1D will perform at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. before heading to Kansas City, Mo. the next day.
