At 43 years old, Jennifer Lopez is gorgeous both in person and on the cover of People magazine.

The superstar's latest cover photo was unveiled this week and reports immediately surfaced claiming the singer-songwriter was less than pleased with the cover shot, comparing herself to 70-year-old fashion designer Betsey Johnson and telling friends she looks "old and haggard."

Call us crazy, but we never thought we'd use "haggard" and "Jennifer Lopez" in the same sentence.

But J.Lo's longtime manager, Benny Medina, is shooting down these reports, insisting that the former American Idol judge is happy with the final result:

"Look at the pictures and read the story!" he said in a statement. "We worked closely with the editors of People and we are very pleased with the cover photo and the results all around."

People mag is also defending the photo—in which Lopez rocks super-straight hair, thick bangs and is crouched down in jeans and a basic sweater—telling the New York Post that the publication "continues to have a productive relationship" with Lopez and her team.

True, the casual cover shot has a far different feel than the actress' glamorous Golden Globes look, but we think it's nice to see the mother of two look so down-to-earth!

So tell us: What do you think of the controversial cover pic? Unflattering? Or totally fab?
