Spider-Man has gotten tangled in a police web!

The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield was pulled over Friday for speeding while driving through Malibu with girlfriend Emma Stone, E! News has confirmed.

Looks like the guy takes his superfast alter ego seriously!

According to local police, the star (who turned 29 today!) was going 65 mph along the Pacific Coast Highway, well above the 50 mph speed limit. He was subsequently cited for speeding.

Stone, 23, was spotted riding shotgun with Garfield and looking on with dark sunglasses as he was ticketed. Could be the pair were in a hurry to birthday festivities somewhere—but guess Garfield's Spidey sense forgot to tell him one thing: Slow down!

Talk has recently ramped up about a possible sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, which grossed an impressive $692 million worldwide. Although the studio wants director Marc Webb to return—and is reportedly targeting a spring 2014 release—he has yet to publicly commit to the project.

Getting a ticket's no fun especially on your birthday, but we wish Andrew an otherwise happy 29th!
